Dental Office BLS Certificates (Formerly CPR-HCP)

CPRed.ca offers on-site Red Cross CPR with AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training for the dental office environment, including dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and administration staff. This mandatory CPR training for dental offices covers medical emergencies with adults, children and infants. Skill development exercises include emergency scenarios that are specific to the dental office environment.

Red Cross Basic Life Support

BLS is a 4-hour, high-performance CPR course designed for dental and medical professionals. BLS is part of the Professional Responder Program and includes CPR and AED training.

The BLS Certificate is valid for 1-year. Re-certification courses are available for any student who has a valid Red Cross BLS certificate. If your Red Cross BLS certificate has expired, you must take the full Red Cross BLS course.

BLS Content

  • Primary Assessment

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Airway Obstruction

  • Assisted Ventilation and use of ambu-bags (Bag/valve/mask)

  • Basic Life Support special considerations

    DURATION: Maximum 4-hrs

FEE: $65/pp

INSTRUCTOR MILEAGE FEE: .55/km - first 50km free! We will notify you of any mileage fees before the course date which may include a flat rate fee of $25. Contact us for details.

BLS RE-CERTIFICATION: $55 pp (2-hour course). Student must have a current Red Cross BLS certificate to qualify for re-certification.

Take-home text books: $12 (electronic version is available free online following the completion of your course on the Canadian Red Cross website).

We accommodate small offices of four or less students

BLS course: flat-rate of $275 with four or less students. Five or more - regular rate applies. BLS re-certification course: $250 flat rate with four or less students (All students must have a current BLS certificate to participate in a BLS re-certification course).


All Red Cross courses include the latest CPR guidelines and meet current standards of training in Ontario. This course meets WSIB requirements for CPR training.

O.D.A. and O.D.A.A. CREDITS:

This certification qualifies for Ontario Dental Association and Ontario Dental Assistance Association credits for the year in which certification is completed. Members must take CPR training annually to qualify for credits.
